Kaspar and Pascal are fully charged after yesterday’s lay day. A great session in Hossegor last evening got them stoked to perform to their maximum ability. It’s Kaspar’s turn first at 10:45. Immediately he is in the lead with his first wave, a 5.5, on which he shows three powerful backside snaps. Today’s heats are only 15 minutes long. Just as the last 5 minutes start ticking away do Kaspar’s opponents find their sweet spot and score big. Kas cannot find a good wave to back up his first and the finish horn sounds his defeat in 3rd place with an 8.23. You did great Kas. See you again in 2 years at the next World Surfing Games!!
Quarter past noon and Pascal is up and running down line in his blue lycra. With two great rights and spray flying off his left he shows the crowds what he can do in this Round nr. 2 against Uruguay, New Zealand and Japan. By the end of his heat, the tide is getting higher and higher as he is hunting for more points. Fifteen minutes fly by and time is up. With a 10.13 in his pocket he leaves the competition area with his head high. Well done Pascal. You showed us your best!
This last heat marked the end of the NL Surfteam representing our little but stoked country in the ISA World Surfing Games 2017. Thanks for all the support all of you in Holland showed us during our days here! We are really grateful for the love and can’t wait to show you more action, perhaps at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020…!
